Hi loves! So lately I’ve been on a bit of a youtube frenzy watching what people have bought from a Japanese store called Muji. If you’re not familiar with or have heard of Muji before, they’re a Japanese household store selling things from kitchen and dining to health and beauty to stationary and travel, electronics and accessories etc. Their philosophy is “no brand quality products” which means their goods are not branded nor come in fancy packaging but instead they focus on providing good quality products to their customers.
So there I was watching all these videos of what people were buying and kind of like food, you know when you watch food videos and you just want to eat as well? Yep, well I wanted to shop at Muji and so decided to make a trip, walked in and came out with about $90 worth of stuff haha. Here’s what I took home with me.
Cotton pads
I bought two types – one pack of 135 sheets cut cotton Ecru 90 x 70mm for $5.95 – they’re decent sized to remove your face makeup and a pack of 165 sheets 65 x 50mm for $4.50 which are smaller in size which would be perfect to remove your eye makeup.
Makeup storage box – $6.95
I have a few of these and absolutely love them. They’re made of plastic with a frosted look to them and I think it’s just so cute and can go so well with any decor in your home. The ones I currently have aren’t as deep as this so I wanted to grab this to hold more makeup goodies. You can also get containers similar to these from Daiso for $2.80 however they may have different sizes to the ones at Muji. Muji definately stocks more sizes, even drawers in this frosty plastic finish too.
200ml oil cleanser – $10.95
I’ve never really liked the idea of adding oil into my skincare routine and was very reluctant to try it at first. A few months ago I bought the Simple Kind to skin oil makeup remover and absolutely loved it. So while I was at Muji and stumbled on this, I thought I’d pick it up and give it a try. Japan are known to do good skin care so I wasn’t too worried to give a few of their things a try.
200ml milk cleanser – $13.95
My first milk cleanser was the one from L’occitane which not only smells amazing but is very gently and soothing on your skin. I’ve used it all up unfortunately so I picked this up hoping that it’ll be just as good.
150ml moisturising milk – $15.95
I love anything with milk in skincare so of course I couldn’t help but grab this too. The texture seems very light and liquidy so something like this would be good to use during the summer where it’s not too thick & heavy.
50g moisturising cream – $19.95
Muji have several different skincare lines for different skin types catering to those with sensitive skin, mature age skin and a balancing range for those with normal/combo skin. Besides the fact that this cream smells so nice and refreshing with a hint of citrus, I decided to pick this up hoping it will go well with my normal/oily skin.
As always I’ll keep you guys posted on which ones of these are good and what’s not. I didn’t buy too much but at the same time a decent amount enough to give me time to play and test them out and let you know how they rate. I hope you guys enjoyed, thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you next time! xo
