Hi guys! Sorry I’ve been MIA for so long. A lot has happened since my last post. I went to Japan, revamped my website (still a work in progress) and I guess life just got in the way.
We’re right in the middle of Winter now here in Australia so it’s freezing and I’m currently stuck with the cold. Nevertheless, I’m glad to be back and hope you are all doing well.
I have here another empties for you guys, this time on moisturisers.
In no particular order here are some items which I’ve used and finished over a period of time – I’ve saved them so I could share my thoughts and reviews on them with you guys here 😉
I’ve included links where I can for the items below, most common products though can be purchased at local pharmacies and corporate stores.
Body moisturisers:
Palmer’s cocoa butter formula moisturiserÂ
This stuff smells amazing, like the name implies, this smells just like cocoa. If you love chocolate (who doesn’t?), you’ll enjoy the smell of this product. Not only does this smell great but it’s paraben free and extremely moisturising too. Although this does absorb quite quickly into your skin, the texture is a little more on the thick side so if you don’t like your moisturisers heavy and thick, this may not be for you. If your skin is dry and needs a little help, I’d recommend to give this a try. This is one of the brand’s best seller and rightly so. You can find more details on their site here.
Available at Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart, Big W, Target
St Ives Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter moisturiser
This is another great smelling product that will make you feel like you’re in heaven when you apply. Also paraben free, this also absorbs quickly into your skin without leaving that greasy feeling. Unlike the palmer’s cocoa butter moisturiser, the texture of this is no where near as thick and isn’t liquidy either. If you like your moisturisers nice and light, this is a good one to try.
Available at Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart, Big W, Target
Palmer’s Organics Cocoa Butter Massage Cream for Stretch Marks
Although this is targeted for pregnant women, I bought this in the hope that it will help relieve the stretch marks around my thighs and butt area (glamorous I know but for you girls out there who have the same problem, you know what I’m talking about 🙂 )
Similar to their regular moisturiser mentioned above, the smell and texture is very similar. However, for the purposes of which it claims to ‘help improve appearance of stretch marks’, I felt like this didn’t really help address that problem if you know what I mean. I guess there’s never really going to be any magical cream to get rid of stretch marks (unless I haven’t discovered it yet in which case please let me know in the comments below!) but I felt this was just a regular cream.

The Body Shop Mango Body Butter
Another delicious smelling product – Mango! This body butter is not as thick compared to some of the other body butters I’ve tried, it does absorb into your skin quite quickly but it does tend to leave a slight greasy feeling behind as well. I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite but for the price ($8.95 for 50ml or $24.95 for 200ml), it’s affordable enough if you want to give it a try.
Available at The Body Shop
Hand Moisturisers
Vaseline Dry Skin Conditioning Lotion
Vaseline is a staple brand that is well known for having great moisturisers. This is no different. It is a little on the runny side in terms of texture, has a light scent and absorbs quite quickly after applying on the skin. Very inexpensive and perfect if you’re looking for every day use.
Available at Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart, Big W, Target
Nivea Intensive Nourishing Hand Cream
Again, this was a little on the runny side, has a slight perfumed smell to it but not too overpowering. Like any regular hand cream, this wasn’t anything outstanding yet does the job well enough for every day use, and it’s inexpensive too.
Available at Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart, Big W, Target
L’occitane Bonne Mere Gentle Cream
L’occitane is in my opinion, one of the best brands out there when it comes to skincare. Nothing has failed for me from this brand yet and this was no exception. Smells great, very moisturising and rich in texture, no greasy feeling, a little steep compared to other hand creams but is definitely worth a try. I got this on special so I’m not quite sure if L’occitane still stock this as part of their regular line so keep your eyes peeled.
Available at L’occitane
The Body Shop Almond Oil Daily Hand and Nail Cream
This was given to me a while ago and I think the packaging has changed since. I’m a huge fan of shea butter, almond, cherry blossom or anything like that so I did quite enjoy this one. I’m not sure what the new formula is like but this was a little on the runny side. It did have a slight perfumed almond smell and was very fast absorbing after application without leaving that greasy feeling.
Available at The Body Shop
Stay posted as I have lots more empties and reviews to share with you guys! What are some of your favourite hand and body products?
Until next time xo
