Ho Ho Ho! Sorry it’s a few days late but hope you all had a very merry christmas and were gifted with many beautiful things! Christmas is one of the best times to ask Santa for goodies and if you were nice, hopefully Santa delivered.
Here’s a list of what I got this year, all gifts were lovely so I couldn’t complain 🙂
First up, I got a lovely Mecca package that contains none other than the gorgeous Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette!
This was of the top item on my wish list so I couldn’t have been happier. This palette contains 3 powders, 2 blushes and 1 bronzer, all of which look stunning so I can’t wait to delve in and try this!
I also got a few samples from Mecca. Got the Kate Somerville anti-aging dark circle corrective eye cream, Kate Somerville oil free moisturiser for acne/oily skin and Goldfaden MD needle-less line smoothing concentrate, none of which I’ve tried before so looking forward to testing these out.
Next up I got a Natio cosmetic bag (you can never have enough of these bags!) filled with travel sized Natio and AUM Anti Age Organics goodies.
From left to right, I got the:
Natio Body Wash and Polish, Natio Gentle Facial Scrub, AUM Firming day cream and the AUM Ultra Hydrating Rose Facial Toner. I’ve never heard or tried any of AUM’s products before so will be interesting to see how they perform. Based on the packaging, it looks very similar to Natio’s packaging so I wonder if they are linked somehow. Both use natural ingredients which is a plus.
Next I got these 2 beautiful necklaces from Jacqui E and Valleygirl. Both are simple yet elegant pieces which I love.
I also got the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs fake tan in shade Medium Glow. I’ve been meaning to try this out as apparently it doesn’t have any of that yucky fake tan smell so getting this for Christmas in time for summer was perfect timing.
The 3 OPI nail polishes are pink (shade NLA68 – Kiss me I’m Brazilian), a nudy, off-white colour (shade NLT57 – Don’t burst my bubble) and yellow (shade SRDC1 – I couldn’t find the shade name for this one, sorry!).
Next is this lovely Shadows palette from Models Prefer called Day to Night. There are tonnes of palettes coming out now that are dupes or look similar to the beloved Urban Decay Naked Palettes. Models Prefer is an Australian brand sold at Priceline. This is my first palette that is a knock-off of the UD so I’m excited to see how this compares! Plus, you can never ever have too many eyeshadow palettes right?!
Socks! You can never have too many socks! We all know that theory where socks tend to get lost in the wash and into space so this will be perfect come winter next season.
The 2 soaps here I picked up at Priceline for less than $5 bucks! Let me just say, Priceline have really done a good job with their gift range this year. All their packaging is incredibly cute that I just wanted to grab everything and try, try, try! From left to right, I picked up the Sugar Plum luxurious bath soap and the Solace Botanic Hydrangea scented triple-milled soap both of which smell really nice (well from the packaging anyway). As cute as these look, I must admit though that the only thing that prevented me from splurging too much more on these items is the fact that they are made in China.
Next I got a wedgwood black tea and mug set. Just like socks, you can never have too many mugs. Not sure if you feel the same but there’s just something cosy about sipping tea or coffee out of a nice mug and snuggling up to a warm blanket next to the fireplace on a cold winter’s day, mmmm..
To go with my mug is a yummy cup of hot chocolate that tastes good all year round. I got this hot chocolate mix that comes in different flavours from the original flavour (which you can never go wrong) to white chocolate to double fudge. Yum!
I also got a lovely hand and body cream in sweet orange and shea butter. Straight off the bat in bold print, no artificial colours or fragrances, paraben free, made in Australia and not tested on animals? Big tick for me.
We’re nearly there. Are you still with me? Just before I move on to the last non beauty item, I picked up these 2 goodies from Mecca. For no particular reason other than to spoil myself, I got the Clinique moisturising gel in combination oily to oily skin and the Urban Decay all nighter makeup setting spray. Both are 30ml’s which is perfect for travelling or if you’re just wanting to try something out.
Last but not least, a non beauty item I got are these bluetooth Bob Marley headphones. I just love how all the materials used from the packaging to the item itself is made of recycled, earth friendly materials. I’ve only tried these out a few times but so far so good! I’m impressed.
And that pretty much sums it all up. If you’ve made it this far, thanks for hanging in there!
Now it’s your turn! I’d love to know what you got for Christmas beauty related or not, or if it’s just something that you simply spoiled yourself with.
With new year literally just days away, wherever you are in the world, I hope you all have a safe and happy new year! See you guys in 2016!
